News update

We all watched the local news both yesterday night and today. I cannot hide my joy, when I saw our local area Member Of Parliament being tormented by other people in the community about land issues and fund irregularities. Our good friend Waititu (area MP) was being grilled by the community of how he uses the Community Development Funds (CDF), which is allocated to all constituencies by the government to help in improving the community's status in terms of school, hospital, or community developing projects. Cases have been pending in courts concerning Waititu on embezzlement of funds belonging to our constituency and using gangs to chase away land owners. Last year the area MP helped incite the area residents around Made in the Streets to gang up and take our property by force claiming that it was the community's land, yet we had full certified documents from the government giving us the land. Not sure what the feeling I should have towards this man, but...God does work in mysterious ways, and He uncovers all the wrong doers in His own timing.

Today, Irene Mbithe shared with us her daughters' birthday. Amaria, who is now one year old had the honors of cutting a cake and blowing a candle. She shared the cake with the rest of MITS family...as Eunice led chapel, she challenged us all to have a quiet moment of prayer, I really think that all our souls needed it, getting closer to God despite all our busy schedules in classes and teaching.

Farm report

The farm has been doing well; Ben and his team have planted new crops in the zones and still ploughing the other pieces of acres at the boys place and one of the three acres. The orchard is being re-fenced to help stop entrance by domestic animals from the community. They have been having a feast on our fruit trees. But the new fencing will put an end to this.

The tractor is still not fully functional, Ben went to the New Holland people and paid the necessary deposit, they will send out an engineer to come and fix the hydraulic system on the new tractor.

It’s raining now, and Francis is dancing in the rain. We are so glad its raining, for both our crop and the sake of country.

We are also having interviews done since we need people to join us. We are growing, and that is always a good thing. The ministry needs persons who are God fearing, will love streets kids and work with them to give them new hope for a brighter future. We need a Christian who will be a member of our Kamulu church, and be able to counsel, giving guidance to our teenagers in matter affecting their lives. Joining the present team in making vital decisions in matters affecting the lives of our present students body and ministry life as a whole.

We need a professional who will train our skills students in hair dressing , a person who will also take care of babies in the new nursery school that we have built. Both needed in these categories are ladies who will stay with the girls and help in their supervision.

Getting these people is hard, but with prayer we hope to get the right willed people to join us in this great work of serving Gods' destitute children. We always have a bible verse in MITS that gives us the strength to always keep going. Psalms 113.

Joyous moments

Victor and Angie recently tied the knot. We were all so excited to hear of the news and they decided to share the occassion with us as MITS family. Yesterday they held a party with the students and team. The occassion was graced with cake eating and lots dancing and music. A few words of encouragement through songs and poems was given to the two couples. Victor also gave words of advice to all our students about the dating game.
We at MITS really do wish Victor and Angie a good life, filled with Gods' blessing and love.
