Updates on MITS affairs

Bilha Kamau one of our Hair Dressing teachers got married this past week. At the same time Ken Atsiaya, who works in our farm and also works with our young adults in Church also got married. Funny, that the two weddings were on the same day and time. The team sent good representatives in both weddings.

in other sad but rather good news, Philip, our education coordinator was involved in a car wreck. We thank God that he got out of the wreck without major injuries but minor scratches. He was driving to school located further East.Philip is in Daystar University taking his Degree in Mathematics.
  • The new building for the Sunday school is almost done,
  • The 9 new boys are still going on with orientation(1 boy took off back to the streets). There are possible plans to bring two boys, the Eastleigh team is still working on the papers work needed.
  • Planners and committees planning on our December projects have come up with a budget and schedule of all the events that will take place to make December a fun time for our kids. Your contribution and prayer will be highly appreciated.
  • Graduation and parents day are also within those plans. We plan to hold both Parents day and Graduation on the 12th of December.
  • We have almost 20 students joining the Skills training program from next year.

Perperdine and good Nutrition

It's been a few months since the Pepperdine group blessed us with their presence and lessons on nutrition and science. For many street youth, getting a balanced diet is a tall order and so when you provided us with funds to improve their nutrition, the team was happy. This is one among many of the times that both young and old people from the bases have been reached with a needed item on their nutrition. Today the young boys had Bananas in the morning while for lunch they had Kales and Ugali. Am told the mothers and their children got milk and fruits yesterday.
In short your gift is changing and improving lives here is ways we can't explain but be thankful for.
Asante sana.

Pepperdine University has had interests  in networking with MITS for the last 3 years. Through Hung Le, a mentor and a spiritual father of many of our students' love for the ministry, has drawn attention among his friends and colleagues at Pepperdine, In the last summer of 2014, Hung organized a group of biology and nutrition students to come visit MITS with their professors. Dr, Donna Plank and Dr. Loan Kim.
While here they taught classes and had various activities with the students and street youths in camps.
