Everyone wants to look extra nice; the girls have been visiting the hair salon, boys getting their hair trimmed. Team members inclusive. The nursery school is having a play area being built, and its initial stages are in progress. The kids will have a chance to play in it, this will be a first for all our kids. They have never had this sort of thing or ever seen one!

A team of counselors visited MITS today. They passed first on our Eastleigh center. They spent a good part of the day with our students, telling stories, playing games then counseling.
The Aggies for Christ are also here and they are to play an active role in the Reunion/Anniversary planning. The AFC have been with MITS since the beginning and their participation is better placed. AFC will be helping put together a power point presentation trying to depict the life, changes and achievements of MITS over the years they have been visiting the center, other pictures will also be included of other mutual groups that visit MITS and leave a mark of fond memories.
On Saturday we celebrated birthdays of students who were mostly born in the month of June. A bonfire was lit, maize roasted, made sausages with the bonfire flames. Then topped it all up with a cake; singing and dancing round the bonfire till late in the evening.
The teenage mothers have moved into their new house, fully painted, furnished with really comfortable beds. This house in much bigger and has housed all the mothers and their babies. Because we want to make the whole girls compound one piece of property, a perimeter wall will be constructed to make the whole girls area secure and a small gate made, to have easy access to the teenage mom's place. John is already working on this.
Despite the fever from the World Cup, we are getting geared and more excited as days draw nearer to June 26th!

Prisca Kerubo one of newest students is adjusting so well now after she gave us a scare. She got into a misunderstanding with a fellow student and got scared to the point of running away from the program. Its the teams' wish to make MITS a safe haven for our students and give them enough love that was lacking in their lives. Prisca came back to us, apologetic. She is under close watch from her dorm supervisors and in constant counseling session with Irene. She has made a great progress though still shy.
