Well this month went so fast, its like I just took a breath and the month is all gone. From the base visits in Eastleigh on Mondays, it was amazing to see the reception that we received in Mlango Kubwa base whereby they all welcomed us with open arms and listened to us. Its impressive to see how Kennedy has really grown to be a person who really encourages the guys in the streets that they too can change and have a better life like the one he is having. We were also happy to notice that most of the Lilliput base members were not high on glue when we went there, they listened to us as we encouraged them to use their talents and gifts that God has given them to the glory of God and also better their life. They also got to learn some Chinese from Andrew who had visited with us on the streets.
We were sad though to learn that Grace Muthoni who was once a student at MITS and now is married, lost her sister the previous week from illness. They are still making the funeral arrangements. On another note, our students got a chance to get new shoes and they enjoyed going to Gikomba together with the teachers to get their shoes. They all got two pairs of shoes each. Some of the shared that it was hard for them to bargain to get the best prices.
I also enjoyed seeing the Christ-warriors group which includes Kenneth Wambugu, Mercy Wanja, Joseph Wambua and Moses Kungu shoot their first music video at the boys center. They have been planning the video for a long time and the Good News Productions International didn't disappoint and did a good job working with the group. With some of the boys supporting the group as dances, its clear that we have lots of talented students from dancing, singing, acrobatic show, juggling, drama, skits, teaching, games and so much more and this month during the concert and the camp we had lots of display of all that. God is truly a wonderful God who blesses us with so much more than we realize!
