Concert practises

We have been trying to get a reputable and good institution to liaison with in the up coming concert. Katera and Andrew who are visiting us from China are organizing the whole event, including the camp that will last a whole week. So after consulting and visiting different places all over Nairobi, this includes churches, we landed a million dollar deal with an institution called Teen Challenge. This is a rehab center located on the far eastern part of Nairobi that deals with drug addicts, mostly alcoholics. It is a men based rehab that takes a whole year. The program entails different activities, Bible lessons, leadership programs are also taught. Amongst these activities is singing in a choir.
The choir is so awesome that we decided to include two of our girls, Mercy Wanja and Florence Moraa, to be taught how to sing (the right and professional way). They have been learning together with the choir of men, songs that will be sang at the concert. Challenging as it has been for them, they have come to learn lots to do with voice composure and singing rules.
The concert is set for February 20th. Teen Challenge has offered to perform some of their songs with the two girls and share testimonies at the event. They are not so different from our own kids, in that ours are also struggling with their past way of life and want to leave the old and start a new life full of hope and vigor.
They will help us with their musical instruments to make the concert complete with good worship songs and praise songs. The idea is to have all our teens drawn closer to God through this medium of worship.

Moses, sounds like it will be a very interesting time. Please take some photos you can share with those of us who cannot be there.
